We are an independent wine merchant selling wine from boutique vineyards around the globe.

Sellar Door Wines, founded in 2004 by Miles and Peter Lilliott, stands as an independent retail and wholesale wine merchant. Despite the challenges posed by a world pandemic, our success endures, with our main store on the Verulam Industrial Estate and a second location nestled in the charming Stable Yard at Hatfield House. Steering the ship are Co-Owner Penny Edwards and manager Geraldine Shearer, overseeing our two shops and thriving online business.

Dive into our extensive selection of global wines, featuring varieties from Canada, Lebanon, Georgia, Romania, and Uruguay. Specializing in South African and Italian wines, we also showcase a curated assortment of locally brewed craft ales and small-batch spirits. Departing from conventional categorization, our shelves are organized by style—Bold, Silky, Fruity, Crisp, Aromatic, and Rich—encouraging customers to explore new flavors. In 2022, we introduced a wine club offering subscribers bespoke cases delivered monthly, quarterly, or bi-monthly.
